Heritage Malta and the Malta Standards Authority signed a collaboration agreement by means of which the authority will be providing technical assistance to Heritage Malta in relation to the environmental monitoring of Malta’s temples and museums, in particular the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum.

Heritage Malta will be implementing an environmental monitoring project at the hypogeum which will be funded through the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.

Under the agreement the authority will provide all the technical assistance required throughout the whole period of the project, varying from the drafting of tenders to any related technical support during the implementation and commissioning phases. Further assistance will be given in the calibration of the equipment after it is installed by the supplier as well as periodical checks during its use.
