Valletta will be one of more than 200 towns and cities across Europe bringing employers and job-seekers together on 28 and 29 September as part of the 2007 European Job Days.
The week of 24 to 29 September will see more than 500 events, such as job fairs, seminars, lectures, workshops and cultural events all aimed at improving labour mobility in Europe. A wide range of organisations such as local businesses, public and private employment services, social partner organisations, universities, learning and training centres and chambers of commerce will be taking part.
The Job Days are being organised in cooperation with EURES, the Europe-wide employment service, and its network of more than 750 EURES advisers. As well as in Valletta, events are being planned at venues ranging from Athens to Malmo, from Valletta to Poznan, and from Montpellier to London. The Malta Job Days will be held at the ballroom of the Le Meridien Phoenicia Hotel. Opening times are between 9am and 1pm and 3 to 7pm on the Friday and between 9am and 1pm on the Saturday.
The 2007 Job Days take place in the context of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Treaty of Rome, and the European Year of Equal Opportunities for All. The programme of events follows the theme set by last year’s highly successful European Job Fairs, when over 150,000 participants attended. The objective will always be the same: to bring jobseekers and employers into direct contact and most events will make it possible for job interviews to take place directly during the Job Day.
