People’s Sacrifices yielding good results – PM

Malta Independent Sunday, 16 September 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

The government led by the Nationalist Party aims to continue what has already been completed in recent years, said Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi while speaking during a radio discussion yesterday.

Throughout his speech, the PM listed a number of differences between the PN and the Labour Party.

He said that even though Dr Sant as leader of the MLP continuously speaks about its projects, no one knows the details of such projects, and what they entail.

“The PN in government has a series of records such as the number of gainfully occupied people, numerous factories which want to invest in Malta and a large quantity of foreign direct investment.”

Referring to the SmartCity project, the PM said that the Opposition does not give any importance to the government’s success.

“The difference between the government and the Opposition is that the government has faith in the country, while the Opposition does not.”

He concluded by saying that the government’s success stories were brought about by a team working together.

“The government has been able to take some difficult decisions and the people cooperated with sacrifices, for good results to be reached.”
