Shout, the award-winning UK teen magazine, is launching a campaign to search for a Shout Fashion Model. The event gives any Maltese girl a one-time opportunity to get noticed and become a model in a fashion shoot for an upcoming issue of the magazine.
Shout is a magazine which comes out every fortnight and which sells an average of 84,000 copies in the UK and export markets, per issue. Every issue also includes a fashionable, high-quality gift.
Any girl between the age of 11 and 15 can aspire to become Shout’s fashion model. Interested candidates just need to fill in the application form which will be included in Shout issues 380, 381 and 382. These will be on sale at all leading newsagents from 24 September. The applicants will need to take their completed application form to an audition which will be held at the Radisson SAS Baypoint, St Julian’s on 1 November, 2007 at 9.30am.
Applicants will be interviewed and photographed to be shortlisted by a panel of judges led by professional stylist Carina Camilleri. The girls will then be asked to return to the Radisson SAS Baypoint, St Julian’s the following day (2 November, at 7pm) for a second audition. The winning girl will be announced on the same night after the auditioning session. The winner, together with a parent or guardian, will travel to London for a professional photo shoot between 6 and 7 December with all expenses covered by Miller Distributors Limited, local distributors of Shout magazine.
“We are very enthusiastic to offer this golden opportunity to a Maltese girl and launch her into the real world of fashion and glamour,” said Emma Miller, responsible for Sales Development – Newspapers and Magazines at Miller Distributors Limited. “This is what Shout promotes and this event will now make at least one reader’s dream come true.”
The Shout Search for a Fashion Model was launched with a party at Muse, a concept boutique owned by Carina Camilleri, who also runs the modelling agency Models.com. “I love fashion and dressing people up,” Ms Camilleri said. “That is why after having been presenting fashion and working with models I decided to open Muse, offering a range of designer, vintage and one-off pieces. All the items – from clothes, to shoes, limited edition make-up, Comme des Garçons perfumes, books, moleskin diaries, and the very first fashion lap-top – are hand-picked for their quality and style. The concept is also based on the rapport I develop with each customer, whose tastes and fetishes I grow to understand to be able to give them customised tips.”
The main sponsor for the Shout Fashion Model Search is Remington, a leader in professional haircare, shaving and grooming products. The campaign is also supported by Radisson SAS Baypoint, Franks, 89.7 Bay and Models.com.
