Vodafone Malta Limited is one of the main sponsors supporting the students of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Malta who will be participating in the Formula SAE competition in Italy.
Formula SAE Italy is a competition that challenges teams of university undergraduate and graduate students to conceive, design, fabricate and compete with small, formula-style, autocross-racing cars. Such events encourage participants in their creativity attitudes, know-how and team spirit.
The engineering students have been busy constructing a prototype open-wheel-style racing car for evaluation. This consists mainly of frame design, engine tuning, suspension set-up, transmission, budget and vehicle testing.
Claudette Farrugia, Corporate Affairs Executive of Vodafone Malta said this sponsorship reflects the company’s commitment towards the social and educational aspects of the community in which Vodafone operates.
This third edition will be held at the Ferrari Fiorano racetrack this weekend, where 26 teams from different universities have registered to participate in this event.
