Information Seminar on new Customs facilitation measures

The Malta Business Bureau – the EU office of the Malta Federation of Industry, the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise and the Malta Hotels and Restaurant Association – in conjunction with the Malta Customs Department, is organising a half-day information seminar on the pending introduction of the new Customs procedures, better known as “Authorised Economic Operator” certification.

The seminar will feature various specialists covering different aspects of the AEO certificate. Customs Department consultant John Mifsud will explain the concept, background and international context of the AEO proposal, Customs EU specialist Mario Brincat will then go into the details of the AEO Programme and Supply Chain Security and finally, Customs Department assistant director for Systems and Excise Albert Scerri will give an introduction to the self-assessment questionnaire and go into detail about how to obtain the AEO certificate.

The seminar is being held on Thursday, between 8.30am and noon, at the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, The Exchange, Republic Street, Valletta. To register or to obtain a programme, contact the MBB Malta office on tel. 2125 1719 or e-mail [email protected]
