Institute Of Directors training series

Malta Independent Sunday, 30 September 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

The Institute of Directors – Malta, in collaboration with the MFSA Education Consultative Council, has launched the Four Season Series, a new Director Training Programme 2007/2008 that follows the successful Winter Series that began last January.

The new programme builds on the role of directors and the voluntary guidelines that were issued by the MFSA last year and will also cover corporate governance issues, which have been the subject of increasing stakeholder attention and scrutiny over the past decade.

The new Four Seasons Series of 11 workshops by six distinguished speakers will help managers and directors understand the legal implications of their role and the responsibilities on a company board. The move from being a manager to a director, or from director to chairman is more than a change in responsibility, it is a major change in behaviour and identity.

More importantly, the workshops will teach how to be more effective and productive to produce better results for the individual, the company and all its stakeholders.

In the first workshop on Saturday, 13 October, Sir Keith Bright, former chairman and chief executive of London Transport and appointed by a consortium of banks as chairman of the Brent Walker Group, will discuss the chairman/CEO relationship.
