Malta Independent Sunday, 30 September 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Last week Ryanair, Europe’s largest low-cost airline, launched its first flight from Malta to Bremen in Germany. The new route will operate three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Announcing the inaugural flight, Ryanair’s sales and marketing manager for Southern Europe Bridget Dowling said: “With eight routes on offer from Malta, there is now a fantastic range of destinations that Maltese passengers can access with the lowest fares in Europe.

“We launched our first flight to Bremen this morning, and our new routes to Barcelona (Girona), Valencia, Stockholm (Skavsta) and the recently announced Venice (Treviso) have experienced excellent advance bookings in advance of their launches later this year.

“The eight Ryanair routes from Malta will carry over 300,000 passengers per annum to and from the island.”
