The adoption of the European currency by Malta will be a source of foreign investment and the creation of more employment and benefits for the Maltese, said Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, speaking during a political activity in Rabat.
He said that the government is working for the creation of enhanced opportunities for Maltese families in the fields of financial services, quality manufacturing and information technology.
“Investments such as those of the SmartCity and Lufthansa Technik are examples of quality employment that the government wants to attract to Malta.”
Dr Gonzi went on to say that the government will make Malta a centre of excellence in the fields of information technology, financial services, health, education and manufacture, by 2015. “These sectors will offer sustainable careers to Maltese young people,” he said
