The Solemnity of the Consecration of the Mdina Cathedral will be celebrated on Sunday and Monday. On Sunday, there will be Vespers at 5pm, Rosary at 5.30pm, and Mass at 6pm. On Monday, there will be Mass at 9am, Rosary at 5.30pm, and Vespers and Pontifical Mass presided over by Archbishop Mgr. Paul Cremona OP at 6pm.

The Mdina Cathedral was consecrated on 8 October 1702. For hundreds of years the Cathedral was the only parish in Malta, together with the small church that is found in Vittoriosa. The cathedral was erected during the Norman period. Following the January 1693 earthquake, the cathedral was rebuilt by Lorenzo Gafa.
