Azzjoni Nazzjonali, the new political party established by, among others, former Nationalist Party MP Josie Muscat, yesterday filed a judicial protest in court claiming that the Public Broadcasting Services Limited, which operates the national television station, was deliberately boycotting it and its events.

The protest was filed against the chairman and chief executive of the Broadcasting Authority as well as against the chairman and chief executive of PBS.

The party said it organised a socio-political activity in Birzebbuga on 10 August, a political conference in Gozo on 15 September and a press conference on 21 September in Floriana. It said the national TV station did not cover all of these activities.

Moreover, it said, the Broadcasting Authority was not doing anything in its power to stop this discrimination and called on the court to order compensation as airtime on the TV station.
