FKNK Condemns hunting accident

Malta Independent Thursday, 4 October 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

The Federation for Hunting and Conservation – Malta (FKNK) condemned any acts in which anyone was intentionally shot at, as was being alleged by BirdLife Malta, and urged the authorities to bring the criminal to justice.

It also condemns hunting accidents where a person was unintentionally hit by shot, and the person responsible for firing the gun fled the place of the incident.

Such a person was not worth to be called a hunter, FKNK said.

A responsible hunter would have seen to any injuries and helped any third party whom he may have accidentally hit while hunting. If such a hunter was involved in this accident, the FKNK urged him to carry his responsibilities and immediately report the accident to the police.
