The Amadeus Chamber Choir and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra will be performing Messe Solemnelle ad Honoure de Saint Cecilia by Charles Gounod at the Jesuit Church in St. John’s Street. The recital starts at 11.30pm till 00.30am.

Under the direction of Maestro Brian Cefai, the Amadeus choir and orchestra has established a reputation for its vast repertoire, which includes 16th century polyphony as well as contemporary music, and its versatility. Since its formation in 1990, the Choir has performed extensively in Malta and abroad, namely in the UK, Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, and Poland.

The Amadeus Chamber Choir has been invited to sing at numerous major events in Malta. It has continued its tradition of choral performances, including its annual engagements at Christmas festivities Prelude to Christmas, and Easter ceremonies. Last December, the Amadeus Chamber Choir performed in Sicily where they participated in the 49th edition of the prestigious International Sacred Music Festival in Monreale.

Moya on Canvas at

St Catherine of Italy Church

At St Catherine of Italy Church, which is situated across Auberge de Castille, Patrick Moya will be painting on a large stretched canvas from 10.15pm to 1.15am. The artist has produced a diversified range of art: from painting on classic canvas to the creation of 3D movies or realistic frescos on the walls of a Catholic chapel. He plays with the 4-letter Spanish name of his father – Moya. He uses these letters in all his works, paintings, and monumental sculptures, installations, 3D movies. Patrick draws modern representations of himself. Patrick Moya’s work is unique and sometimes considered like an artist of the “new école de Nice”.

Crib exhibition at St Francis Hall

At St Francis Hall, beneath St Francis Church (entrance from Melita Street), there will be a display of Christmas Cribs called Bottega del Presepio. There will also be a demonstration in the making of pasture. The activity will be open from 6.00pm till midnight.
