It was not only business talk on financial and economic matters for the high profile group of delegates who were in Malta for the annual meeting of the Financial Institutions Shareholders Group of the European Investment Fund.
In fact, Bank of Valletta made sure this meeting was a memorable one for all the delegates by hosting them to an interesting cultural programme of events that included a number of visits to Malta’s top historic landmarks. Following a welcome dinner hosted by BOV Chairman, Roderick Chalmers at the Saluting Battery at the Upper Barrakka Gardens, the top officials from the EIB as well as the representatives of the financial institutions shareholders in the EIF programme were treated to a programme of cultural visits to St John’s Co-Cathedral and to two other major heritage sites that are sponsored by Bank of Valletta namely the Neolithic Tarxien Temples and Palazzo Falson in Mdina.
Delegates were visibly impressed by the huge historic and cultural legacy of Malta and took active interest in getting to know more about the history of the Maltese islands thus making of their visit, a truly memorable one.
The meeting was held in Malta on 20 September at the BOV Centre in St Venera and was attended by representatives of the various European financial institutions that have a shareholding in the EIF. This meeting was hosted by Bank of Valletta, itself a shareholder of the EIF
