Technotrans, a global leader in the supply of high-tech and eco-friendly products and services to the print and optical storage media industry, is to establish a regional base within the International Media Production Zone (IMPZ), a member of TECOM Investments, and the Middle East’s first free zone for the printing, publishing, packaging and graphic arts industries.
Sindabad Al Mahaire, Director of Business Development, International Media Production Zone, said: “IMPZ provides a growth environment for the regional media production industry by setting up key facilities, investing in infrastructure, and developing a unique ‘free zone’.
“Hosting technotrans underscores IMPZ’s commitment to implement strict eco-preservation policies to ensure a healthy and clean environment, within the zone and adjacent areas.”
According to Shuaa Capital Research, the printing industry in the UAE is growing at 15 to 20 per cent annually. Currently, its total value is pegged at circa AED9 billion. Forecasts indicate the sector will generate about $1 trillion worth of business by 2008.
Technotrans has a proven track record in controlling and monitoring liquid technology processes in offset printing. It offers complete solutions for ink supply systems, solvent recycling, dampening and filtration, as well as spray dampening and central chilling for press ancillaries. Its continuous research and development ensures tailored solutions that meet individual customer needs.
Niels Siegel, Managing Director, technotrans Middle East, said: “Since most of these partners will be based in the IMPZ, our presence is only logical as we will better interact with our customers and provide quick solutions.”
With an initial investment of around AED1 billion, IMPZ is being built on an area of 43 million sq. ft. It offers printing, publishing, packaging and graphics art industries with competitive business incentives ranging from 100 per cent ownership of businesses to complete tax exemption.
