BOV Rallies its support to help Park of Friendship

Malta Independent Friday, 12 October 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Bank of Valletta was among the first organisations to support the Park of Friendship following the recent robberies.

The park was the target of two robberies. In the first break-in, Lm4,000 in cash were stolen from one of the offices. The second break-in that followed soon after saw 13 animals being snatched from the LWS animal park, whilst another one was killed. These animals are used as part of a unique form of therapy offered to children with a disability.

The bank’s sponsorship was presented by Patricia Cutajar, manager of Bank of Valletta’s Marsascala branch to Bradley Dingli, business development manager at the park during a recent visit to the LWS Animal Park.

Speaking during the presentation Ms Cutajar stated that, “We wanted to be among the first to give our support to the park following these shameful accidents, to ensure that its services are restored to the full within the shortest time possible. Bank of Valletta has always held the services provided by the park in the highest regard and has supported various projects undertaken by the park over the years”.

These losses pose a serious setback to the services offered by the park, which spends over Lm400,000 a year to provide a range of free services to over 1,200 children and adults.
