“One Life…Many choices – Free Valletta from addiction campaign” is the theme chosen for a week of activities set up in Valletta by the Sedqa Agency and the Valletta Community Network, with the help of the Valletta local council.
The aim of this campaign is to promote choices in favour of a healthy life and education against substance abuse.
The campaign was launched yesterday morning in the presence of Valletta mayor Paul Borg Olivier, Foundation of Social Welfare executive chief, Joe Gerada, Sedqa Operations director, Jean Claude Cardona, and Caritas director Mgr Victor Grech.
Caritas contributed towards this week of activities together with Employment and Training Corporation (ETC), a number of Valletta parishes, YMCA and Youth National Council.
This campaign will continue until Saturday and the number of public activities include: a Valletta talent workshop, debate for the unemployed, a public forum to discuss the theme for a better Valletta, a football participation where the public can participate and play with the Valletta team with a kick off by Archbishop Mgr Paul Cremona OP, as well as sketches set up by the Youth National Council and a half-day of activities which include a marathon, a football match and a concert.
