Bank of Valletta is supporting the annual concert by the philharmonic society Nicoló Isouard, commemorating the society’s 136th anniversary and the fourth century of Mosta as a parish. This year’s concert is being held at the Catholic Institute in Floriana today at 7.30pm.

The bank’s sponsorship was presented by John Soler, chief officer credit at Bank of Valletta to Nazzareno Vassallo, president of Nicoló Isouard society, in the presence of Mro Spagnol and concert coordinator Arthur Zammit. “Over the past years, Bank of Valletta has built a strong track record in the support of local artistic and cultural initiatives,” said Mr Soler. “The bank is keen to support this activity since it provides an important showcase for Maltese musicians and singers.”

“Our band club, founded in 1871, is the only one in Malta to bear the name of a Maltese composer,“ commented Mr Vassallo. “We always seek to organise events of the highest calibre, so much so that recordings of past concerts are highly sought among classical music connoisseurs. The philosophy of our society is to promote cultural activities on a national basis and the concert is the highlight in the year’s calendar of events”.
