‘Grand Prix De Malte’ Traffic arrangements

Traffic accessibility restrictions will be in force in Valletta on Saturday and Sunday, in view of the Grand Prix being organised on the Valletta ring-road. Vehicular traffic will not be permitted to access Valletta between 1 and 5.30pm on Saturday. Valletta residents and persons having to access Valletta for emergency purposes only will be permitted access between the races, through Great Siege Road and Girolamo Cassar Avenue.

On Sunday vehicular traffic will not be permitted to access Valletta between 9am and 5.30pm. Valletta residents and persons having to access Valletta for emergency reasons only will be permitted access between the races, through Great Siege Road and Girolamo Cassar Avenue.

Vehicular traffic from Blata l-Bajda and the Portes des Bombes areas on Saturday and Sunday will be diverted to Triq Sarria and proceed to Triq il-Mall and out from Sa Maison Road. Motorists wishing to access the Floriana car park will be permitted through Vjal ir-Re Dwardu VII (the road leading to the car park).

Park and Ride mini vans coming from the St Francis Ravelin area will be diverted to Triq Sarria. Patrons will alight/board near the petrol station situated along Triq l-Assedju l-Kbir. The park and ride mini vans will exit through Triq Sant’ Anna.

Taxis coming from the Portes des Bombes area will be diverted to Triq Sarria. Passengers will be required to alight/board in the vicinity of the Tal-Mall Public Garden where a temporary taxi stand is being set up for the duration of the event only.

Coaches coming from the Portes des Bombes area will be diverted to Triq Sarria, Misrah San Publiju. On-street parking will not be permitted along Triq San Publiju on Saturday and Sunday as this is being reserved for coaches for the duration of the event.

Public Transport from the Portes des Bombes area will be diverted to Triq Sarria. Patrons will alight in the vicinity of the Tal-Mall Public Garden. On-street parking will not be permitted along Triq Sarria for the duration of the event on Saturday and Sunday.

The Valletta Bus Terminus will be temporarily re-located to Triq Sant’ Anna with both carriageways being solely allocated for use by buses for boarding and exiting purposes only.

Route buses displaying route numbers 40, 41, 42, 47, 55, 52, 56, 58, 59,45,49, 60, 62, 63, 64, 66, and 68 will be stationed along Triq Sant’ Anna (American Embassy Side).

Route buses displaying numbers 1, 3, 4, 6, 11, 12, 13, 15, 115, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 27, 127, 29, 30, 32, 34, 35, 38, 138, 71, 74, 75, 80, 81, 82, 84, 88, 89, 91 will be stationed along Triq Sant’ Anna (Bank of Valletta side).

The public is being urged to adhere to the traffic arrangements outlined above and to make use of public transport.
