To mark the occasion of the acquisition of Hotel Phoenicia, Heuston Hospitality CEO, Peter Stephenson, chairman Paddy Murphy together with the new Irish owners hosted a reception for hotel clients. Luan Cuffe on behalf of the investors mentioned how proud they are to have acquired Malta’s oldest landmark and that they consider themselves as the caretakers of such an important treasure and part of the Island’s cultural history.
In his address, Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech emphasised the role that Hotel Phoenicia has always played in the tourism industry for the Island since opening its door for the first time 60 years ago. Dr Zammit Dimech wished the management and the new owners every success with their future plans for the hotel.
For the occasion, the Executive Chefs from two other Heuston Hotels, Oakley Court, Windsor & Pragelato Resorts & Spa in Italy joined Victor Borg, Hotel Phoenicia’s Executive Chef to prepare an array of specialties for the reception on the night.
