European Presidency for MIM

Malta Independent Sunday, 11 November 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

The Malta Institute of Management (MIM) will be taking over the presidency of the European Management Association (EMA). This appointment was made following a unanimous decision taken at the annual EMA assembly held last week in Athens. MIM was nominated by current president Mary Chapman from the UK’s Chartered Management Institute, and seconded by the EMA’s executive board.

The EMA is a pan-European association of national institutes and organisations concerned with the management profession. Among its main objectives the association has the fundamental aim of fostering collaboration in research on core management issues. It also aspires continuously to forge contacts with other international management organisations. At present it has members from 14 different European countries.

MIM has been an active member of EMA (formerly known as CECIOS) and has always been elected a member of the executive board since the year 2000.

MIM was represented by its president Lawrence Mizzi and vice-president Joe Zammit at the annual assembly in Athens
