Glittering Diamonds collection

Malta Independent Sunday, 11 November 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

A truly astonishing, glittering diamond collection made up of six distinctive diamonds with a total of 34 carats has take

centre stage at the Timeless 2007 exhibition.

The collection, consisting of five rings and a pendant, arrived yesterday under strict security in time for the Timeless 2007 exposition organised by Diamonds International at the Hilton Conference Centre, Portomaso, which ends today.

It has taken Diamonds International over six years to build this unique collection as these diamonds are extremely rare. The diamonds were purchased rough from Russia and Africa and then cut by the best diamond cutters in Antwerp according to the specifications of Diamonds International.

One particular stone, which originally weighed 15 carats, now forms a wonderful 7.61 carat, emerald-cut diamond assembled on a ring that also incorporates 1.10 ct trillion cut diamonds and 1.05 ct of round diamonds in white gold. The collection was designed by Diamonds International’s in-house designers and commissioned to a top Valenzia goldsmith. This unique and elegant collection is a first for Malta as there has never been such a high-value collection on display.
