Teenager Guilty of owning paedophilic material

An 18-year-old was yesterday fined Lm100 after he pleaded guilty to being in possession of paedophilic material.

The boy, who at the time was a minor, was accused that on 22 February 2006 and before, he was in possession of paedophilic material, which was saved on his computer.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli took into consideration that the boy pleaded guilty and that he was a first time offender and fined him Lm100 and ordered the destruction of the hard drive which contained the paedophiliac material.

Police Inspector Raymond Aquilina led the prosecution while Dr Andy Ellul and Dr Vincent Micallef appeared for the accused.
