The Bank of Valletta is supporting Working Smart in a Globalised World – SmartCity and Participation in ICT Business, a conference being organised by the Economic and Management Consultancy Services (EMCS) Ltd on 27 November at the Hilton Malta. The bank’s sponsorship was presented by Lawrence Micallef, head of strategy and business development to John C Grech, chairman and managing director of EMCS Ltd.

“ICT has been identified as one of the fastest growing industries and a major facilitator in the development and value generation in the globalised world of the 21st century,” said Mr Micallef. “As the leading financial services provider in Malta, Bank of Valletta is delighted to participate in this conference that deals with the impact of technology and ICT as a major growth sector within the Maltese economy,” he added.

Thanking BOV for its support and full participation, Dr Grech said that the conference would provide a much needed opportunity for a wide-ranging business discussion on the evolving role that Malta is seeking to play in the ICT industry and the business ramifications that arise from it. “Malta has been pursuing a very active ICT strategy. One dimension of this is the setting up of SmartCity that fits in the global strategy of our country,” said Dr Grech.

Targeting local and international business executives, the conference will discuss the opportunities in ICT business in the context of Malta’s strategy on ICT and the development of SmartCity in Malta. The objective of the event is to provide information, whilst fuelling debate and exchange of perspectives and experiences, and provide concrete opportunities for networking.

Registration for the conference can be done directly with EMCS on 2134 1848/9. Brochure and registration forms can also be found online on www.emcs.com.mt.
