Less than day after an 87-year-old man was buried and killed under the rubble of a ceiling that caved in at his Sliema residence, another elderly man could thank his lucky stars early yesterday, when the ceiling of a room in his house collapsed while he was sleeping in another room.

The accident happened at about 4.10am, also in Sliema, in Triq Sant’ Enriku, the police said, adding that the man had to be treated only for shock at a health centre.

Police investigations are still underway.
