Six Months jail for slightly injuring policemen

A Valletta man was yesterday jailed for six months after he slightly injured a police sergeant and a constable by using a harmful spray after they caught him red handed breaking into a house.

Christopher Scerri also pleaded guilty to threatening the officers as well as trying to steal from a house in Valletta, stealing money and causing damages to the house.

The court, presided over by Magistrate Saviour Demicoli, jailed Scerri for six months for injuring the policemen, fined him Lm506.44 for damaging their uniforms, fined him another Lm100, jailed him for two years suspended for two years and warned him not to cause bother for the police anymore.
