Celebrated pianist Richard Clayderman will be playing at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on 8 December at a concert, when he will be accompanied by the National Orchestra’s string instruments section under the direction of Christopher Muscat.
Clayderman has sold over 70 million copies of his recordings, and has won 267 gold and 70 platinum discs. His single Ballade pour Adeline sold 22 million copies in 35 countries.
He has already played at the conference centre to mark the inauguration of the Malta International Airport.
Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech and finance parliamentary secretary Tonio Fenech, told a news conference that the 8 December concert will mark the 10th anniversary of the National Orchestra, which is being expanded into a philharmonic orchestra.
The concert is being financed by the National Lotteries Good Causes Fund.
