Informa Consultants has just published the results of the 14th issue of the in-depth analysis of Media Warehouse. The objective of this research study is to obtain an in-depth analysis of local media – examining the type of listeners, viewers, readers and so on, together with other related factors that are considered helpful for all parties concerned with the media industry. It is an essential tool for companies seeking information about the type of media to be used for particular campaigns, brands, product and services.

Such aspects as frequency of viewership, audience share, type of listeners /viewers/readers, together with many other factors are examined to give a clear picture of the media market. This year, in an effort to constantly develop and improve the study, the research study has been enhanced and is offering even more information.

As from this year Media Warehouse is being carried out six times a year, which will help obtain a better analysis of the local media market. Furthermore, the sample for each survey has more than doubled and has increased to 1,050 net respondents for each of the six surveys. The research document is still issued twice a year, around May and November, and each covers the results of three separate surveys carried out in the prior months.

The media analysed consist of TV, radio, newspapers, magazines and Internet and the research study is available in different packs accordingly.

According to the latest issue of Media Warehouse covering the months between May and October 2007, when calculating the average audience over the three surveys, TVM registered the highest overall share – 46.5 per cent, followed by ONE TV with 32.3 per cent and NET TV with 17.8 per cent.

With regard to radio, ONE Radio obtained the highest overall share after calculating the average audience over the three surveys with a total of 16.2 per cent, followed by Calypso Radio with 15.2 per cent, and RTK with 12 per cent.

In the print media The Times retains the highest readership for the daily newspapers followed by l’orizzont and Nazzjon; on Sunday, The Sunday Times has the highest readership followed by Torca and Mument.

As regards magazines, a strong preference for magazines dealing with promotional offers and bargains was once again registered, together with lifestyle magazines. This is reflected in the favourite magazines mentioned, namely the Bargain magazine, followed by the Circle and Gwida.

As for the Internet, di-ve.com still registered the highest hits among local websites, as well as being the local website the majority of respondents make most use of. This is followed by timesofmalta.com and gov.mt.
