Since its inception in 1923, the Lotto game, which has become deeply ingrained as a weekly entertainment in Maltese culture, has never undergone any changes. Maltco Lotteries Ltd has announced the first-ever changes to the game to make it more in line with players’ expectations. These improvements are designed to give the game the potential to deliver bigger prizes at the top end of the scale for terno, terno-ambo and quaterno while maintaining the same prize structures for the prima and ambo categories.

When a player plays terno from tickets bought for the draw of 7th December, 2007 and guesses three out of the five numbers drawn, he/she will now have the winning amount doubled from the present 2,000 to 4,000 times the amount of the stake.

The winnings on quaterno, on the other hand, have been increased by five times as much, from its present 5,000 times the amount of the stake to 25,000 times. The maximum amount that can be won in the quaterno category in any one draw is Lm50,000. A player can win with quaterno by guessing four numbers of the five numbers drawn every Saturday.
