Go Mobile this month celebrates its seventh anniversary, and is marking the occasion with a range of special offers for both existing and new customers.
Go’s mobile arm has grown from strength to strength over the last 12 months and has introduced a series of mobile communication solutions that have kept Malta on the cutting edge of new technologies.
Among these new solutions was the nationwide introduction of 3.5G wireless internet and email services, where it remains the first and only mobile telephony provider offering such services across Malta and Gozo.
The company’s market share has reached an overall 47.25 per cent, while Go Mobile’s market share in the contract market segment has grown from 37.79 to 42.5 per cent over the last year.
Commenting yesterday, Go’s chief mobile operating officer, Norbert Prihoda observed how number portability has proved extremely successful in the case of Go Mobile, in that new Go customers have the facility of retaining their ‘99’ number when transferring over from the competition.
He added, “We are justifiably proud of these achievements, especially when one considers how the company managed to break the market monopoly and not only create new choices, but also raise the bar in terms of the standard of technology and business solutions available.
“Go Mobile has grown from strength to strength and, as we speak, continues to make considerable inroads into the local market. We are proud to be the fastest-growing mobile operator in Malta.”
Remarking how the company strives to meet the demands of an ever more discerning mobile telephony customer, Mr Prihoda added that wireless internet and email speeds have doubled, while the company is also looking at new developments over the coming year.
In line with Christmas tradition, Go Mobile is to introduce a range of special offers to reward loyal customers and to thank new ones, Mr Prihoda commented, also hinting that there were other big surprises in store later this month.
New Go Mobile customers are to benefit from free calls to other Go Mobile customers for 30 days as soon as they top up with Lm5 (e11.65) or more, while if the first top up is of at least Lm10 (e23.29), customers will receive e50 (Lm21.47) free talk time to Go Mobile numbers. The talk time will be awarded e10 (Lm4.29) per month, starting in February for the Lm10 top ups, while the talk time awarded the Lm5 top ups will be given out in e5 (Lm2.15) monthly batches.
Existing customers, meanwhile, will receive 500 free SMSs to Go Mobile numbers when topping up with Lm10 or Lm20 (e46.59).
The company also has a range of mobile phones for all tastes and budgets for the Christmas season to suit all tastes. Each phone comes with e12 (Lm5.37) free credit, 100 free SMSs and 100 free MMSs.
All Go Mobile customers will also save Lm5 on tickets for the awaited Juventus-Valletta match. Lm10 discounted tickets can be picked up from Go Mobile Customer Contact Centres. Over December and January Go Mobile customers will be able to receive a free Badger Karting session when buying a session by sending an SMS to 5070-5159.
The company has also reduced its mobile TV rates, with which customers can view a mix of local and international channels such as MTV, BBC World, TVM and others.
