Livcom is the world’s only Awards Competition focusing on best practice regarding the management of the local environment. The United Nations Environment Programme also endorses Livcom awards.

Every year communities from around the world are recognised for their environmental achievements in tackling the most pressing environmental issues for the planet.

This year’s finals, which celebrated its 11th year, listened to presentations from 46 communities and projects from 23 nations across the globe. A total of 280 nominations were received for the Livcom awards.

This year’s finals saw judging on six criteria for both projects and communities including enhancement of the landscape, heritage management, environmentally sensitive practices, community sustainability, healthy lifestyles and planning for the future.

The Gold award for Built Projects was given to the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa following extensive preparation and presentations in London last weekend by our team, led by Raphael Cauchi our General Manager, and Ray Vassallo our Chief Engineer.

Commenting about this achievement for the Resort, Raphael Cauchi, General Manager of the Resort said, “We are all very excited about having received this award. This achievement reflects our commitment to create synergy between economic growth and environmental protection in the daily operations of our property. Through this commitment we are actively contributing to the improvement of the local environment and to the country’s sustainable development, by directly contributing to the tourism industry.”
