A 28-year-old woman from St Julian’s was given a suspended jail sentence yesterday, after she pleaded guilty to forging bank documents and defrauding a couple. She was also ordered to pay back the money to its rightful owners.
Alexia Cross pleaded guilty to defrauding Victor and Dorothy Gauci of Lm919.62, as well as forging documents.
Magistrate Audrey Demicoli jailed the woman for nine months – suspended for two years, and ordered her to pay back the money to the couple within six months.
