Heritage Malta is organising a public lecture entitled Heritage is Malta’s main asset. Do we treat it as such? The talk will be given by Dr Ray Bondin at the Heritage Malta Head Office in Merchants Street, Valletta, on Tuesday at 6.30 pm.
The message of his lecture is a very simple and direct one: Malta is not doing enough to take care of its major asset in spite of what is said. He will give his opinion on what is being done wrong and on the lack of commitment by the public and the private sector to protect our heritage. He calls for more power to be given to Heritage Malta and for more coordination in this sector within one agency.
Dr Ray Bondin has a Doctorate in Conservation. He was the Curator of Valletta for 20 years, and responsible for the rehabilitation of seven of Malta’s historic cities 1997-2007. He has been a Board Member of Heritage Malta since its early days, a member of the Committee of Guarantee and is a Member of
the Heritage Advisory Committee. Since September this year he is Manager, Corporate Projects at Heritage Malta.
