Man Fined Lm10,000 for complicity in human trafficking

A man from St Andrews was fined Lm10,000 after he pleaded guilty to complicity in human trafficking.

Antoine Borg, 26, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Saviour Demicoli to complicity in human trafficking on 2 October 2004 and before.

He told the court that he was involved in helping Chinese nationals to travel from Malta to Sicily.

After hearing his guilty plea, Magistrate Demicoli fined Borg Lm10,000.

Police inspector Mario Haber prosecuted while Dr Stephen Tonna Lowell appeared for Borg.
