Paradisemalta.com was launched last February and has since managed to keep growing with a record number of online visitors reaching the 80,000 mark last month.

An online survey of the website showed that around 40 per cent of those visiting the website had never ever heard of Malta before. “This is a pity,” said a paradisemalta.com spokesperson “The aim of this website is to educate and inform Internet visitors about Malta as the ultimate tourist destination,” she continued. At the moment the website is being advertised on many other major websites such as CNN and a major effort is being made to upload videos on the famous video site youtube.com Most advertising is targeting online users from the United States, England and Germany.

The website provides information on the geographical location of Malta, information about SmartCity, interesting tourist spots, Maltese restaurants, hotels, culture, an extensive photo gallery, information about Gozo; it also includes an innovative state-of-the-art English to Maltese translator.
