The Jubilate Deo Choir will be holding its annual Christmas concert on Tuesday 18 December at the parish church in Naxxar. For this occasion the choir has invited soloists Claudia Tabone (soprano) and Charles Vincenti (tenor) who together with harpist Caroline Calleja and organist Ronald Camilleri will offer a varied repertoire of original as well as more popular compositions for Christmas.
Under the direction of its Music Director Christopher Muscat, the Jubilate Deo Choir will be performing the first Malta performance of Muscat’s own Ave Maria for choir a cappella (awarded first prize at the Orfeo Misericordia International Composition Competition in Spain last year) as well as other works by Praetorius, Rutter, Gauntlett and Adam.
The concert also features the first performance of Verbum Factum Est by Josef Bugeja (the choir’s assistant music director).
The Jubilate Deo Choir was founded by Rev. Paul Caruana in 1974 as a girls’ choir and sang for the first time at Christmas that same year.
During the concert one shall have the opportunity to appreciate the historic 1775 Santucci organ that has in recent years been restored to its pristine splendour. Further information about the choir and the concert is available on the website:

The concert starts at 8pm and entrance is free.
