After a spectacular show at the Bay Music Awards at the Eden Arena, six nominees walked away with well-deserved awards.
The circus themed event was a stunning success, adding atmosphere to the stage and gearing the crowd of 5,000 people toward standing ovations and jovial cheers. The crowd fervently applauded as the awards were called and beaming winners took the stage to accept the highly regarded honour to be called one of Malta’s best.
The winner of the Best Newcomer saw Salt enter on stage with an eager acceptance. Best Dance Tune went to Love is no Possession by JJoy and Kirsty Hawkshaw while Best Solo Artist was received by second time winner Ira Losco.
A wild applause went to Winter Moods for their song Marigold who received Best Band and Best Single. And as a special award this year, the BMA’s saw the Icon Award go to The Characters for a lifetime achievement of success. The show climaxed as The Characters performed a BMA medley of Which Way Does the Wind Blow and Down By The Water.
The night came to a close with a special ending featuring Freddie Quattromani and rock and roll legend, Freddie Portelli.
