Apart from the Christmas lighting and decorations all along Republic Street and Freedom Square, the Republic Street Business Community Association is organising animation between December 13 and 24, and a car exhibition on Sunday, December 16 in the morning. The highlight of the event is a competition, with a Hyundai Getz as first prize.

Merchants Street, the other popular shopping area in the city, is also being decorated by the Merchants Street Business Community Association.
