A 34-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, both from Sliema, were yesterday suspected to be in possession of false euros.

The police said a shop-keeper alerted them that a couple was allegedly in possession of false euros in Windsor Terrace Street, Sliema.

The police went on site and found the couple to be in possession of an amount of allegedly false euros that does not exceed the equivalent of Lm500.

Duty Magistrate Dr M. Mallia appointed various experts to help conduct an inquiry.

The couple is assisting the police with their investigations.
