Instead of sending out Christmas cards, the Bank of Valletta has this year chosen to make a donation to selected charitable institutions. Money equivalent to the cost of producing Christmas cards was donated to Angela House in Guardamangia and YMCA Homeless in Valletta.
Anthony Camilleri, manager of Bank of Valletta’s Msida branch, presented the donation to Sr Rosalia Galea during a visit at Angela House in Guardamangia. Concurrently, Richard Dimech, manager of BOV’s Republic Street branch, presented a donation to Jean Paul Mifsud, chairman of YMCA Homeless in Valletta.
While taking the opportunity to wish its shareholders, customers and the Maltese community the very best wishes for Christmas and a prosperous New Year, the Bank of Valletta said that its decision not to send Christmas cards was based on principles of corporate social responsibility.
The bank expressed conviction that customers would support its decision to use the funds that are normally dedicated to the printing of Christmas cards so as to make this Christmas even more special for the children and the homeless people that it is supporting.
