A woman and two men yesterday were charged with stealing around Lm4,100 from a petrol station in Msida at 3.15am on 10 December.

Diandra Abdullah, 22, from San Gwann, pleaded guilty to the charges brought against her.

The court, presided over by Magistrate Antonio Mizzi, heard how in a statement to the police, she admitted to receiving Lm200 for taking the thieves to the station and mount a guard, while the other defendants said the bounty was shared in equal parts.

The court jailed Abdullah for two years suspended for four years and ordered her to pay back Lm200 to the station owners within six months.

The two men, Shone Carmel Agius, 34, from Gzira and Christopher Pace, 22, from San Gwann, were also charged with relapsing while Agius alone was accused of attempting to steal from a petrol station in Ta’ Xbiex on Monday. They were remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to the charges brought against them.

The police informed the court that the police were holding another man in connection with the theft and will be shortly arraigning him.
