aChristmas, a time for joy and happiness, is marked by various traditions, folklore and customs that are well rooted in local religious beliefs. Christmas and New Year spirit is highly felt in local hotels that are finely decorated with large Christmas trees and lights taking the centre-piece of attraction.

At Hotel Phoenicia, preparations for Christmas and New Year’s activities are well underway.

Today, there will be a Dinner Dance at the Grand Ballroom with a buffet dinner and live entertainment provided by the Godwin Lucas Band.

A festive four-course Christmas menu, with live entertainment by Godwin & Eve, will be served at the Phoenix Restaurant on Christmas Eve. Dinner with a Christmas set menu will be held at the Pegasus Brasseries.

At Hotel Phoenicia, there will be an early Christmas morning breakfast at the Palm Court Lounge with live entertainment by resident guitarist Tony Pace starting at 1am.

The hotel will also offer Christmas Day set menu lunch and Christmas Day buffet lunch at the Pegasus Brasserie and Palm Court Lounge respectively.

Christmas Dinners will also be available at Hotel Phoenicia with either a Christmas Night four-course menu with live entertainment by Musical Tones at the Phoenix Restaurant or a set menu in the Pegasus Brasserie.

A ‘taste of Malta’ describes the Dinner at the Phoenix Restaurant on Saturday 29 December. Food will include typical Maltese dishes with some specialities from Hotel Phoenicia’s kitchen brigade, led by Executive Chef, Victor Borg.

Hotel Phoenicia offers the New Year’s Eve Dinner on a four-course set menu at the Pegasus Brasserie or a five-course gala dinner with the participation of Godwin Lucas Band in the Palm Court Lounge. New Year’s Day lunches will be served at the Pegasus Brasserie offering a la carte menu and classic holiday roasts and a buffet lunch with the participation of Sammy Galea Band, at the Palm Court Lounge.

Christmas treats and afternoon tea will be held every day at the Palm Court Lounge till 23 December between 10am and 6pm.

An unusual attractive activity will be held by Hotel Phoenicia on Wednesday 19 December at 5.30pm on the doorsteps leading to the main entrance of the hotel. Hotel guests, tourists and locals alike can assist to carol singing provided by the Drama Troupe Children’s Choir.

Thirty children aged between 6 and 9 years from Chiswick House School’s choir will sing innovative Christmas carols from the vast repertoire together with older students who will perform solo.

To make the event even more enjoyable, Hotel Phoenicia will be offering home made mulled wine and roasted chestnuts to all those passersby who join in the event.
