The Ghaqda Kultura u Armar Marija Annunzjata, of Tarxien in cooperation with the parish and the Augustinian community, will be running a Christmas pageant on 23 December.

It-Twelid tal-Messija is a live representation in the streets and squares of Tarxien recounting the story of the coming of the Messiah, going back centuries before the birth in Bethlehem. About 250 actors wearing Biblical costumes will be taking part.

The representation leaves the church of St Nicholas of Tolentino at 3.30pm for the Annunciation parish church along a winding route.

The pageant is the beginning of a year-long programme marking the 20th anniversary of the Ghaqda Kultura u Armar Marija Annunzjata.
