The Lotto Receivers’ Union (LRU) and the Union Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) are calling their members for an urgent meeting today in connection with the issue over an order given about the premium fund.

The two unions said they have not been given any information that Maltco Lotteries has accepted the order given by the Finance Ministry’s Parliamentary Secretary, about the change in the Lotto Prize Fund.

In a meeting that took place on 6 December, Parliamentary Secretary Tonio Fenech gave a specific order to the Lotteries and Gaming Authority for Maltco Lotteries to make a change in the premium fund immediately according to an agreement made last May.

The Parliamentary Secretary emphasised that the order should have come into effect with the changes Maltco introduced in the ticket prices, and in the lotto’s prize winnings before the euro is introduced.
