Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna said its main cultural attractions will remain open for regular visiting throughout the festive period with the exception of New Years Day.

Fort Rinella in Kalkara and the Malta at War Museum in Vittoriosa are open between 10am and 4pm daily. Film shows and guided tours are given on the hour at each site. In addition, a one-hour full-scale historical re-enactment will be provided at Fort Rinella daily starting at 2.30pm. Throughout this display aspects from the daily life of the Victorian garrison will be recreated covering artillery and musketry drills, military communications, foot drill and military fighting skills. Members of the public will be offered the unique opportunity of firing a cannon or a soldier’s musket.

The opening hours of the Saluting Battery, which is located just below the Upper Barrakka Gardens will be from 10am to 1.30pm. Guided tours around the historic battery are offered at 11am and 12.30pm. The noon-day gun will be fired precisely at noon. Free transport is offered to both the Malta at War Museum and Fort Rinella from this site at 12.15 and 1.15pm respectively.
