Beyond Words, a collection of paintings by Daniela Xuereb, forms part of an exhibition that is being held at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Valletta, until 12 January.

The exhibition was opened by Foreign Affairs Minister Michael Frendo.

Born on 27 September 1974, Daniela Xuereb received her education at the Sacred Heart School in St Julian’s. There she discovered the world of art and explored it under the guidance and expertise of art teacher Margaret Chircop. She also took lessons at the School of Art in Valletta. In April 2006 she participated in a group exhibition organized by the Salesians of Don Bosco at the Malta Hilton entitled Joy of Easter.

The artist’s interest in the challenges and joys of youth led her to read for a BA in Youth and Community Studies from the University of Malta, which she completed in 2002. Meanwhile Ms Xuereb embarked on a career in journalism when she joined The Malta Independent on Sunday.

Now she works as a freelance journalist for various titles. Since then she has continued writing, a passion which gives her a deeper understanding of the various social issues surrounding us.
