The Malta Union of Bank Employees (MUBE) totally supported all employees who have in some way contributed and are still contributing to the euro changeover process.

“Special mention at this moment in time should also go to the employees who were obliged to conduct their part of the business during odd hours during the festive season and now to most of the staff and the branch network especially staff handling cash,” said the MUBE.

Feedback given to MUBE confirms that the bankers involved are working hard to make sure that both the client and the general public is being efficiently seen to, the union said in a statement.

“Once again this confirms that the employees in the banking sector are hardworking, skillful and strong contributors to the Maltese economy. Therefore MUBE reiterates that the banks’ management should take heed of what MUBE has already insisted upon and that all staff concerned are duly compensated,” they said.
