Atlas Insurance participated in a high level conference on “Claims Management and Processing for Insurance” held in London last November.
The conference sought to emphasise the advantages of implementing cost control mechanisms, while maintaining and improving customer satisfaction. The topics discussed in this conference included efficiency in claims processing as a milestone in customer satisfaction objectives, methods of increasing operational efficiency in claims processing, good practices in claims handling, strategies in the fight against insurance fraud, and the optimal integration of technology towards a seamless claims process.
Matthew von Brockdorff, deputy managing director of Atlas Insurance, gave a presentation based on a case study on the Maltese insurance industry experience, titled “Turning Profitability and Driving Efficiency in Motor Insurance in a Small Island Nation”.
He participated alongside representatives from top European insurances including AXA Insurance, Allianz, Fortis, Lloyd’s, Norwich Union, Munich Re and AIG Europe.
Mr von Brockdorff’s presentation dealt with some of the initiatives taken by leading local insurers like Atlas and others, led by the Malta Insurance Association. He also dealt with matters relating to cost and fraud control, the introduction of repair and surveying standards, tackling problems with spare parts and the use of IT solutions in areas such as eTARS, eVERA, Glassmatix, Claims Check systems, and Claims Handling Code of Practice.
