All pepped up by the spirit of Christmas, GlobalCapital executives including the Chairman, members of the Executive Committee, other management and some members of staff, put their stamina to the test by participating last December in a punishing spinning class headed by fitness instructor Pete Satariano at the Hilton’s Living Well Gym.
The purpose of this annual event is to raise funds within the company for the GlobalCapital Welfare committee which administers the organisation’s funds for philanthropic causes. Money collected from GlobalCapital employees through pledging and donations, is further bumped up through a sum donated by the organisation itself.
A good portion of the money raised in December’s Spinning for Charity has already been allocated towards a needy cause closer to the GlobalCapital home. Adrian Galea, GlobalCapital’s Chief Officer of HR, Training and Development, and Chairman of the GlobalCapital Welfare Committee said, “This is one of the events where we can take time to think about and contribute for those needy causes.
“When we lead such hectic lives, taking time to stop and contribute some of your time for a worthy cause provides creates a sense of pride, especially if this is complemented with financial assistance”.
GlobalCapital Executives and Staff will be sweating it out again for charity next December. In the meantime, GlobalCapital remains committed to the society in which the organisation operates and has various social responsibility plans this 2008.
