Court: Teenager Guilty of stealing TV set from a bar

A 19-year-old youth was jailed for six months suspended for two years and placed under probation for two years, after he was found guilty of stealing a flat screen TV set from a bar in Valletta.

Before magistrate Anthony Vella, Curtis Bakoush, from Valletta, pleaded guilty to stealing the set, worth less than e2329.37 (Lm1,000), from a bar within the Embassy Complex in Valletta, on Sunday 2.45am.

He was also accused of causing less than e1,164.68 (Lm500) worth of damage to doors and apertures of a number of establishments within the same complex.

Police Inspector Pierre Micallef-Grimaud prosecuted, while Dr Mark Busuttil was legal aid to the accused.
